HART BEAT

The HART BEAT newsletter, first introduced in 2009, is an initiative of the Hart Field-Site Group.  It is aimed at providing farmers and agronomists with regular updates of current and predicted crop and soil conditions as a season progresses.  We believe it will assist in making informed choices on the need for additional nitrogen and fungicide applications. The Yield Prophet® simulations featured are not a crystal ball, but provide a realistic prediction of the available soil water and nitrogen status of your crop.

In 2011, two additional sites were added giving an even broader outlook.  You will now have access to data and predictions for: Hart, Condowie, Spalding, Kybunga, Farrell Flat and Tarlee.

The information contained within a HART BEAT newsletter is timely, and is issued 4-5 times during the growing season to GOLD and SILVER members of Hart only.  To become a member of Hart, and to receive your copy of HART BEAT as it is released, please check out our membership page.

HART BEAT newsletters are part of a GRDC (Grains Research & Development Corporation) funded project on improving water use efficiency (WUE), in collaboration with SARDI (South Australian Research & Development Institute)  and the University of Adelaide.  We have established six WUE (water use effiency) sites in the Mid North region to represent a range of soil and climatic differences that occur here.
