HART BEAT - the evolution
The HART BEAT newsletter, first introduced in 2009, is an initiative of the Hart Field-Site Group. It is aimed at providing farmers and agronomists with regular updates of current and predicted crop and soil conditions as a season progresses. We believe it will assist in making informed choices on the need for additional nitrogen and fungicide applications. The Yield Prophet® simulations featured are not a crystal ball, but provide a realistic prediction of the available soil water and nitrogen status of your crop. We recommend caution when interpreting the Yield Prophet® data provided as it is not representative of all paddocks in the areas featured. Differences in sowing dates, variety, soil moisture / soil type, frost events etc. will influence results.
In 2011, two additional sites were added giving an even broader outlook. Data and predictions were published for: Hart, Condowie, Spalding, Kybunga, Farrell Flat and Tarlee.
While previously only available to gold and silver members of Hart, new funding in 2013 allowed us to distribute HART BEAT to everyone on our database. Data and predictions for Hart, Pinery, Kybunga, Spalding, Farrell Flat and Tarlee were featured.
In 2014, our HART BEAT newsletter got a brand new look and grew again to include 8 sites; Hart, Spalding, Condowie, Kybunga, Farrell Flat, Pinery, Eudunda and Tarlee.
